The Heritage Centers Foundation serves as an advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities by securing community support on behalf of the children and adults served through Heritage Centers.  We believe that every individual deserves to live an enriched and meaningful life. The Foundation provides resources for vast and essential “quality of life” programming, which are not otherwise publicly funded.

Why Support the Heritage Centers Foundation
  • Across New York State, approximately 124,000 residents have developmental disabilities; and in Erie County there are nearly 8,000 of these individuals in need of appropriate services and programming.  Your support directly benefits over 3,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities who are served through Heritage Centers.
  • A common misconception is that public funding takes care of all the needs of the individuals we serve.  These public monies cover the bare necessities.  Private financial support is desperately needed to provide supplemental programming, family support and enriching experiences which include, but are not limited to: offsetting costs associated with educational, recreational and social programs; physical and occupational therapy equipment; transportation; family respite; and the funds to ensure someone, who may not have a legal guardian, is rightly represented.
