Community Support Services


In-Home Services
This program is designed to provide in-home support services to individuals who are developmentally disabled, and their families. Our staff work one-on-one providing training, education and assistance, encouraging individuals to reach their highest potential. Some of the services offered through this program include respite and in-home habilitation. Also offered are services specifically geared towards children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances, including respite and skill building.

Teen Awareness Program (TAP)
TAP is an after school program designed for young women, ages 13 to 21, who attend special education classes. This program encourages the delay of initial or recurring pregnancy and the completion of education. Session topics also include: building self-esteem, social skills and positive relationships. TAP is open to City of Buffalo residents only.

Intensive Parenting Training (IPT)
IPT is a group that focuses on parenting skills for parents with developmental disabilities, who have children from birth to 13 years old. IPT focuses on child development, discipline, nutrition and family budgeting. Childcare is provided during program hours. IPT is open to City of Buffalo residents only.

Recreational Services
This program includes a variety of options for youth who are developmentally disabled and between the ages 5 to 21. Some of the activities offered to the youth include, but are not limited to: after school programming, weeklong overnight summer camp, and day camps during the summer, winter and spring school breaks.
